Preparing For A Themed Party

by Rene Lacape

If you plan to listen to your kids if they decide to choose their own party theme cake decorations, don’t worry. Your child won’t be spoilt because of having parents who listens too much to their whims and fancy. If you make it a point that they also help out with the preparations, you won’t end up spoiling them at all. They should be involved anyway as the party is especially for them.

If you think that you will end up with a lot of task to complete, then you are mistaken. All you need is careful planning and a little creativity. Here are some of things you may need to do:

1. Decide on a theme 2. To know the number of guest will make it easier for you to estimate the size of the cake. 3. the cake you want to have; either bake one yourself or order it from the baker’s 4. Decide on the party theme cake decorations to have; either use what you have or buy them. 5. Choose some birthday party candles to light up this event.

Are you getting all worried on the theme to select? Actually, this should be the easiest part; simply consult your child. If it does not sound right or doable for you, your child probably has some more in their imagination to share with you, if only you ask. That is the great thing about children; they are never short of ideas.

Knowing the theme alone is not enough. You should know how many people you are inviting to the party. This will determine the size of your cake and you can therefore plan your design. Bigger cakes seem flexible; however, planning is still important. A great cake doesn’t look bare or messy. Great party theme along with a fantastic cake, wouldn’t you want to invite more people to the party.

Are you good in baking? If so, you may want to make your own. The good thing about this is that it gives you more flexibility. But, if you are not much of a baker, this flexibility may instead be a challenge to you. Whether you are baking your own or getting it from the baker’s, browse through some of the potential cake designs. Perhaps you can get one to complement the theme selected. The cake should at least be suitable for the theme.

The best part of all is the decoration. Far from troublesome, decorating the cake with the party’s theme must be the most flexible part in this whole business. You can use your own materials or simply buy them. They can be edible or otherwise.

example, you can bake some cookies molded into stars and circles that say this is a theme of outer space. Perhaps a snowman made of cotton candy for a Christmas related theme. For the eyes and nose, it is just as easy to squeeze some edible colored cream to form these features. In fact, there is a lot that this cream can do. The same can be said for cookies, as long as you can find the molds desired. A few little toys can jazz up your creation too, and you may already have these at home.

As for the last important detail, the candles, you have a variety to choose from. Candles are to signify a person’s age and the kids (especially) would not want this to be missed out on their cake. There are also candles that play birthday tunes when they are lit up. They come in simple form or animated ones such as in a shape of flower petals which will open up when lit up.
