Kid’s Party Theme Ideas

by Hannah Scrivener

Deciding upon an entertaining and fun idea for your child’s next birthday party can be a frightening situation for even the most imaginative parent. Planning out a fun-filled day for a group of very active children is a hard process no matter what age group the children are, and having the responsibility as the party planner and organiser can lead to day full of stress and anxiety. However with a little thought and careful planning you can turn your child’s birthday into a day they will remember for a long time to come.

The first step to any successful party is ensuring your guests are in a state of great anticipation for an entertaining party when they arrive. One sure-fire way of guaranteeing a day of joy and excitement at a child’s birthday party, is by having a theme for the party. The following article outlines a few theme ideas that will hopefully get the creative juices flowing when planning your child’s next birthday party.

Fairy – For your little girls next party take her on an enchanting journey into the land of fairy magic, where all her wishes come true!. There is no better way to liven up a girls party then to have a fairy theme, that includes fairy games, song and dance and the chance for the girls to make fairy wands and dust.

Mermaid – Take your party into the mystical sea, and swim alongside mermaids for a day of fun! Complete the theme by offering your the children beautiful shells to decorate as well as coral-styled face painting.

Pirate – One of the more popular boy party themes is a pirate party. Pirate parties are the perfect match to a mermaid theme if there are both boys and girls attending the party. The boys can have fun sailing the seven seas for gold, while the mermaid girls travel with them through the seas. Entertain the boys by providing them with the opportunity to cut-out eye patches, cut out swords from cardboard as well as black paper that has been folded together to make hats.

Prince and Princess – Take your guests on a fairy-tale journey as they turn into princes and princesses. The children will love this theme as they turn into their dreams of being a charming prince or beautiful princess as all their wishes come true on their special day!

Barbie – This is a very popular theme among young girls who enjoy nothing more than having the chance to dress up as their favourite doll for the day. Complete the theme with a dress up, including a blonde wig, and a beautiful dress.

Therefore with some careful thought, a little imagination and some well-thought-out planning you can turn your child’s birthday into a day to remember! Of course there is still the concern of organising the activities that would keep the children busy throughout the day, however this difficulty can be taken care of by hiring a children’s party entertainer to entertain and look after the children for the day.
