Expecting A Baby? How To Choose The Perfect Baby Shower Theme
Cut cardstock or foam sheets into the shape of a flip flop sandal. Use cute ribbon, sequins or feathers to create the front strap.Put the recipients name on the front of the flip flop. Write the invitation on the back of the flip flop.Swim over to (hostess’s house) to celebrate the new fishie in the sea coming to (parent’s names) It will be held on (date) at (time). It will be lots of fun, if you catch our “drifts”. Hope to “sea” ya
Decorate onesies- Provide a table to decorate onesies for the baby. Have supplies like iron on designs, markers, paints, and decorative items for guests to use. You can tie dye some onesies or provide onesies in different sizes and colors to make it more interesting. Autograph the ball- The guests get to pretend they are an all star signing an autograph. Take pictures of them while they sign the ball for the baby. This can be arranged later in a cute picture collage showing the all stars that came in support of the new rookie. You can also have them write advice on a larger ball. It can be advice on taking care of a child or parenting as a couple.
Goldilocks honey tasting game- Take different flavors of baby food and cover the outside with tin foil. You can make a cute label to go on the outside with clip art and print something like “Goldilocks’ Honey Factory”. Place on a table for guests with plastic spoons for them to taste test the colored goo. Then they will guess on a piece of paper what kind of baby food they think it is. Twin Advice Book- A mother with twins will definitely need advice on taking care of two babies, especially if it is her first pregnancy. Place out a pretty journal for guests to write advice to the mother. This keepsake will be invaluable to the mother as she starts raising her kids. Diaper bag surprise- On a separate table; place a cute diaper bag and items that would fill the bag. Don’t say anything about it; just have it placed as a display. A little while later, take away the bag and items. The guests will then be handed a sheet and told to write down everything that they saw on the table. The one that guesses the closest amount of items wins a prize.
Make Ducky Music- you will need some kazoos and a list of songs (can be baby songs or favorite songs). It is the same idea as name that tune, although I think this is much more fun! Pass the kazoo and first song to the first person in the circle. They need to sing the tune through the kazoo. The person that guesses the song picks out of a basket and has to do whatever it says in there. You can have them give how they know the mother to be, make them do something silly, give some baby advice, or create whatever you would like them to do.
Beach dress up relay- Split up the guests into teams. Set out 2 piles of beach items including clothing and swim items. Each person must put all of the swim items on and pose for a picture before they can tag the next person in their line to do the same. The first group to get done wins. Add some fun to this game by using an ironing board or surfing board for the guests to pose on for their picture. Musical Beach Towels-Lay out beach towels on the floor in a circle, making sure there is one less towel than there are players. Put on some beach music and have everyone walk to the music like musical chairs. Limbo- Well, this is a classic game I could not pass up. Play limbo. (pregnant people can sit this one out).
