Buzzing In With A Honey Of A Bee-Day Theme

A Bee theme makes a honey of a birthday party. Add your own creative touches to these innovative ideas and your party will swarm with fun.

Whether you go with the Bee Movie theme, the Sweet-As-Can-Bee theme or even Bugs, you will find a sweet supply of party items as well as great ideas.

Once you have chosen a Bee theme, then it is time for a guest list and to decide upon a party location, time and date.

Invitations are next in line. Make your own or pick from those that are available at online party sites in your theme.

Fill in the details, sprinkle in some fun confetti and seal with bee stickers. Bee sure to mail with plenty of time for parents to schedule it on their calendars.

Don’t get stung with last minute chaos. Careful planning will help ensure a smooth flight so you don’t get your wings in a wad.

As far as decorations go, yellow and black are the most common colors to use but depending on your specific theme, you may want to use others instead like pink for Sweet-As-Can-Bee.

Bring in lots of balloons. Mix solid latex balloons with themed Mylars for a really fun air. Children love balloons so make sure to have plenty.

Welcome your guests with a birthday banner and mark your party spot as well. You can purchase personalized ones online.

Hang a Bee theme pinata for a cute decoration and a hit at game time. You can also hang stuffed bees from the ceiling and stick on removable bee stickers to the walls.

Another great way to blend theme and color is by decorating a table or tables. Drape them with solid or theme table covers and add a centerpiece on top. Set the cake, beverages and snacks on them as well as themed party plates, cups and napkins.

The children will bee making a bee line for the snack table when you serve up some fun foods like peanut butter and honey sandwiches shaped like flowers, honey yogurt dip with a fruit tray and honey graham crackers. You can find lots of recipes available from birthday party sites online.

For beverages, nectar is a great choice. It is available in peach, strawberry and a variety of flavors. Add in a real punch by adding flower shaped ice cubes.

The cake is one of the most anticipated part of a birthday party so make sure yours is extra sweet! Purchase a bee or flower shaped cake pan and decorate according to the directions or bake a honey cake if you would rather.

Make game time fun by focusing on having a good time rather than winning. Change old favorite games into the bee theme like “Bee Bee Flower”. You can also use your imagination for a scavenger hunt for bee related items and have a relay race for the hive. Pin the stinger on the bee is another fun game.

If you are doing crafts at the party, consider the age range of the children. Younger children will like coloring bee pictures or shaping play dough into flowers while older ones would prefer creating bees with pom-poms or more difficult projects.

Send the children home with memories of your party with fun favors. Create your own or purchase Bee theme sets that can be found online.

Within a week or so after the party, help your little one send out thank-you cards. you can make them or purchase in the same theme as your invitations.

With these great ideas and your own creative contributions, you will have a party swarming with fun.
