16 Gifts For You Daughter’s Sweet Sixteen

Every young girl looks forward to and dreams of the day that she will turn sixteen. There is something magical about the age and that number in a young girl’s mind that makes her anxious to reach that wonderful age. Perhaps it is that fact that she’s heard of the saying “sweet sixteen”, or maybe it’s the idea of being a real teenager, or maybe she’s envisioning her coming of age. No matter what it is, your daughter will have big dreams for her sweet sixteen and as a parent it is your duty to fulfill those dreams. The following list will make your life easier because it is the 16 things your daughter is probably going to want for her sweet sixteen!

1. A Car. Most 16 year olds want a car to drive. They can legally drive in many states and therefore want to exercise their right. It may not be a fancy car, but if it’s drivable, it will do.

2. Flowers. Women love flowers and so do girls. Send your daughter an arrangement of flowers to her school. She has probably never received flowers so now is a good time to do that.

3. A Pair of Earrings. A special pair of earrings are only befitting on a special birthday. Buy your daughter her first piece of real grown up jewelry on her birthday. Try and purchase real jewelry; that way it’s something that she can cherish the rest of her life.

4. A Ring. Most teenager girls don’t own a real ring yet either. So pass one on to your daughter. She’s finally old enough to wear one without losing it so trust her enough to give her one.

5. Manicure and Pedicure. One thing that ladies of luxury and leisure sometimes do is pamper themselves with a manicure and pedicure. Their daughters just want to emulate their mothers so allow your daughter to be pampered for the first time on this special day.

6. Professional Make-Up Lesson. Let your daughter experience what it’s like to be beautiful and feminine for a day. Take her to have her first make-up lesson and professional make-up application. This will not only boost her self-confidence but will be a fun way for you and your daughter to bond.

7. Professional Hair Style. Make-up isn’t the only thing that daughters want to do. Allow your daughter the chance to get a professional hair cut and style on her sweet sixteen too.

8. A New Dress. Every teenager longs to look a little older, so get your daughter a new party dress that she can wear out for a night on the town with her friends. It doesn’t need to be too sexy; age appropriate will do.

9. Room Makeover. If your daughter’s room still looks like a little girl’s room then it is perhaps time for you to let her grow up. Give her an allowance and allow her to update her room so that it fits her age.

10. New Bag. Women love purses and so does your daughter. Get her a new stylish bag for her new stylish age and watch her light up as she opens this gift.

11. Party. Almost all sixteen year old girls want to have a sweet sixteen birthday bash. If you don’t make a big deal about this as a parent you will most certainly regret and your child will never forget it.

12. Birthday Cake. No birthday is complete without a birthday cake. So make sure that along with a party, your daughter has a cake.

13. Cell Phone. If you haven’t already added your daughter to your plan, do so. It’s not okay for her to be this old without a phone.

14. Decision Making Authority. Your daughter is growing up, and growing up always means more responsibility. But don’t just give her more chores to do. Allow her to make some decisions on her own. She will appreciate the fact that you trust her and she will be better for it.

15. A Credit Card. Okay this one may be a bit of a stretch, but every teenager wants to have a credit card. The beautiful thing is that these days you can get prepaid credit cards so you can control how much money your child spends.

16. A Card. Never underestimate the strength and importance of love. Your daughter just wants to be loved at the end of the day and to know that her parent’s love is unconditional. So if you can’t do anything else, let her know how much you love her.

Dorthy Weatherbush’s daughter will be turning sixteen and she plans on getting her a car as well as a flowers from 1800 Flowers. Her daughter is expecting the car, but she is not expecting to get the flowers from 1800 Flowers. You are welcome to reprint this article – but get your own unique content version here.
